The next day, I woke up with a silly grin plastered on my face. Eighteen. Finally. I practically bounced out of bed and threw on my school skirt and a shirt. Today was going to be amazing. At school, the halls buzzed with the usual chaotic energy, only amplified by the fact that it was my birthday. My friends swarmed me, showering me with wishes and small, thoughtful gifts โ a hand-knitted bracelet from Sarah, a CD of my favourite band from Mark, and a ridiculously fluffy keychain from Emily.
